In addition to the 156 episodes of the award winning and internationally released series Nature on Track and 100 episodes of local environmental magazine programming Talking Pictures have produced a further 13 X I Hour series for Discovery, 26 x ½ Hour series for Animal Planet and further 13 documentary specials for the international market. Talking Pictures have maintained a company policy to promote community development and educational awareness, believing the media of television is vital for this. They have also produced a number of educational documentaries for USAID, SNV Botswana, Kuru Development Trust, Lubombo SDI on subject matter ranging from Aids Awareness, Cultural Education, Environmental Instruction and Tourism Development. Talking Pictures also pioneered live wildlife television broadcasting by producing, (off a boat and underwater), 4 hours of live programming per day from Plettenberg Bay on the Eastern seaboard of South Africa known for its whales and abundance of sea life. This was satellited to London for instant viewing, which was to our knowledge a world first. In addition to numerous inserts and promotional videos for the local market Talking Pictures has recently completed a 2nd 13 part series of the highly acclaimed Young & Wild Babies for Animal Planet as well as 4 x 1 hour specials for the international market. Talking Pictures has a close affiliation with The Regional Tourism Organization of Southern Africa and are currently involved in producing documentaries to promote tourism in the SADC region. |
